Better function and price

These were better than expected. I put them into 4 pairs of ski boots. Dad, Mom, and two kids. Size 10, size 8, size 1 and 13 kids. They cut to fit perfectly and I only saw the golden mesh a little bit on the smallest size. Which in fairness is way below the recommendation. We ski in the northeast and it gets cold. They kept us plenty warm at the lower settings. And had lots of power left at the end of the day. They may only have a strip of that golden metal mesh up the middle but it felt like it was the whole insole that was warmed. The insole is the same thickness from heel to toe, you could likely add a heel cap, or arch if you’d like. I may but so far, I just am using the insoles, and we are all happy with the comfort. No wires underfoot, just soft neoprene. I think. I don’t know what it is but it’s nice.To install I cut a slit in the liner and just ran the not round but rather flat wire up the side originally but it bothered my ankle bone. Rerouted the wire straight back then straight up and I can no longer feel it when skiing.I cut the harness or strap that goes around your leg, lightly sanded the boot and glued the pouch at its remaining but much shorter straps. That way the battery is able to get bumped and easily stretches a little. The whole situation just ends up under our ski pants and you reach down pull them up a little to press the button. It has a visible led to tell you what setting it is on. Or. You can do it without looking, it’s not so bad. Long press turns on 100%, press once it goes to 75%, again it goes to 50%, again 25%, and again it shuts off….long press to repeat…Paid just under $60 on Amazon deals and that’s a steal considering other brands are like 5 times that or something ridiculous. And these batteries seem good. One wasn’t charging properly and the company is sending a replacement. The battery seems to work but the led lights don’t. Great customer service so far. Luckily, I ordered a 5th set for spare parts someday, if needed. And am recommending them to all my friends. Not given any free samples and don’t work for them!

Great for standing outside in the cold

I work outside in a job that requires a lot of standing still on the street, so my feet get cold pretty quick. The heated insoles do a great job of keeping my feet warm! They're comfortable enough to replace the normal insoles in my shoes with these without any comfort issues. They definitely get warm enough -- I typically keep them on 50% power, sometimes only 25%. They get too hot for me when they're on 100%, but I can see how that would be necessary in sub-zero temps. The batteries are good for several hours' wear before needing a recharge. No complaints here; I would buy again. Note: heating inside your shoes will likely make your feet sweat, even in the cold. So some sort of moisture-wicking wool socks are important, because it's much harder to keep a moist foot warm than a dry one.

Great heat with durability and longevity

I work outside all year long. My feet are always cold. These heated insoles are great and do the job above and beyond what I expected. My feet are never cold in the winter when I'm wearing these inside my work boots. I love the different heat settings for how warm or hot you want your feet to be. The batteries have lasted my whole shift only using about 1/2 battery life. Definitely a game changer and worth the $. I've paid a lot more for one that didn't last.

Works super duper well!

These work really well for me. This is my second season riding with these in my snowboarding boots. They are super warm to the point I have to put them on the lowest setting (1 out of 4) or my feet get too warm. Over MLK weekend we had a cold spell come through Colorado and it was -4F at 10 AM in the morning when we decided to head out to the slopes. This was the only time I cranked it up to the second to lowest setting (2 out of 4). This made me wonder why I waited so long to get heated insoles.I do have to arch my toes up when I put my boots on to prevent scrunching. But unlike other reviews, I've scrunched them many, many times getting the boots on and they still work. The batteries have never run out on me during a full day of riding but, like I wrote above, I only have them on the lowest setting. It was easy to install - just cut according to the lines for your foot size - and slip them into your boots. Also easy to move to other shoes. (As opposed to the ones I got my daughter where you have to cut a slit in the insole and glue/tape the heating pad to the insole. I got this for her as she's still growing so I can move the heating pad to new insoles/boots.)Reading a few of the bad reviews, I must have lucked out and got a bomber pair.

Will keep your feet warm, but they are fragile.

I've been using these for several years now, mostly for winter cycling in the northeastern US.The good:1. They will keep your feet warm. Not really toasty, but your feet will not be cold, even when temperatures drop well below freezing. The coldest I have used them was 8 degrees F/-13 degrees C. This was at the highest setting in winter mountain biking boots, and my feet were comfortable. Biking in those temperatures would have been absolutely unbearable without them.2. They are fairly thin and don't take up a lot of space in your footwear.3. The battery life is REALLY good. At the highest setting, you get 3+ hours of heat. The not-so-good:1. They are fragile. If the insoles scrunch up when you slide your foot into the shoe or boot, they usually will not work again afterward. Particularly if they bend sharply where the battery cable enters the side of the insole. I've ruined a couple that way, and I now get around that by using a square of double-sided carpet tape underneath the heel area to keep them in place. The insoles are then dedicated to that particular pair of footwear, but in any case, it's best to leave them in place, even when you do not need to use the batteries for heat. Also, the cables that connect the batteries to the insoles are long and somewhat insubstantial. It is necessary to carefully secure them so that they don't catch on something (like a bicycle chainring) and rip. Supposedly, they are washable, but I'd be extremely careful when doing that.2. The batteries secure around your ankles with elastic gaiters. I don't mind that, but some might find that inconvenient or uncomfortable.Bottom line:They work very well; you just have to be careful with them. I'd purchase them again.

I read a lot of reviews on these and s po me say one side works while the other doesn't.I have been using mine for a month or so now and I can see why some people say what they do.The first use: My right foot was heating up while the left seemed less warm....I was going to jump on here write a 1 star review and request a refund or exchange. Then the left foot warmed up just as much as the right one was. I noticed the right after a little time started to cool or not heat as much....Since day one the two pads work as expected and advertised. They seem to use a built in overheating thermostat. They warm up and almost feel hot with a thick sock. The battery being outside of the footbed to me makes the most sense as then it is not getting overheated...Picture the scene: You are out in your favorite ice hole or your on the hunt when your batteries run out.You are outside in the wilderness or on the frozen body of water. Maybe out snowmobiling around when your feet start to feel the numbing cold as the batteries deep inside your boots/footwear and now you need to either recharge or replace the batteries with fresh ones. Now you need to remove your footwear and your stuck with your feet in the cold air now...With this set you could buy a second set or third set of batteries and charge them all up and only have to slip out of the battery pocket on the band that goes around your leg or boot your choice. No need to remove your footwear at all with this set.Wires are super easy to manage and keep under control with simple DIY fixes of you do not plan to change the heated soles to other footwear.I could not rave more about this product to everyone I meet.Excellent design.Easy to use.DECENT BATTERY LIFE.Depends on how you use the product. It has 4 heat levels and the higher the heat the faster the battery runs down.On highest heat these last about 4 to 6 hours maybe longer.Tip: They start on high power. Let them warm then wither turn it lower or turn them off. Then crank up or turn on when needed. To get longer use.I love this product as a wheelchair user, who is not paralyzed. So I don't move around nearly as much as an able person. So my feet get cold easier. My boots are Korkers Polar Vortex 1200 and these heated soles are perfect for them.
